Benjamin Weidekamp was born in 1977 in Münster/Germany.
He studied saxophone with Gebhard Ullman and composition with Georg Graewe at the College Of Music "Hans Eisler" in Berlin.

In 1997 he won the 1st prize in "Jugend Jazzt" with Trio BLOOMINGTON and was also voted best soloist.

With OLAF TON he won both the 2002 "Studioprojekt Jazz" and 2004 the Berlin Jazz & Blues award. The Bandīs first record was released 2003 by LEO RECORDS, the Band tours in and out of Germany.

His Bigband-Project STEREOLISA with OLAF TON and GEBHARD ULMANN exists since 2001 and released a record in 2003.

Benjamin has composed music for theatre and worked with the dance company TOULA LIMNAIOS.

He has played concerts with Themroc 3, Frank Gratkowski, Owen Howard, Michael Griener, Joe Williamson and John Schröder.
